It’s Petition Time and Tilden Street Fair

Pick up your designating petitions on Monday, June 8th, 7:30 pm, at OSA, 220 East 23 St., 7th floor.  Petitioning for our endorsed candidates – Bill Thompson, Bill de Blasio, John Liu, Scott Stringer, Dan Garodnick, Rosie Mendez, Richard Aborn,  Steven Smollens and Louise Dankberg starts on Tuesday, June 9th.

Endorsement Meeting

Supreme Court Nominating Convention

New York County held its Democratic Nominating Convention for Supreme Court Judges on September 18th.  In a tightly contested race, Judge Judith Gische received 65 votes and secured the nomination over Judge Lucy Billings who received 61 votes.  Also nominated were incumbent

Justices Marcy Kahn, Shirley Kornreich and Martin Schonfeld.
Join Tilden on September 25th, 7:30 pm at Seafarers, 123 East 15th Street.  We will now be concentrating on the Presidential Election and need you help to make Senator Barack Obama our next President.  We will organize voter registration drives, phone banks, as well  as other campaign activities.

Primary Results and Next Meeting

Civil Court candidate, Nancy Bannon and Surrogate candidate, Nora Anderson, both won the Democratic Primary.  Your voices were heard and your votes did count.  Both will be in the general election if there are other party opponents, but as we know, the Democrat nomination is tantamount to election in New York County.

The next meeting of the club is on Thursday, September 25th, 7:30 pm, at Seafarers and International House, 123 East 15th Street in the chapel.  Guest speaker, Senator Bill Perkins will speak about the Obama presidential campaign and what we can do to help him get elected.
