We filed Designating Petitions with the Board of Elections on July 16th containing 1567 signatures for our endorsed candidates: Council members Dan Garodnick and Rosie Mendez; Mayor Bill Thompson; Comptroller John Liu; Public Advocate Bill de Blasio; Manhattan DA Richard Aborn; District Leaders Louise Dankberg and Steven Smollens; Judicial Delegates and Alternates and County Committee. The next step is winning the September 15th Primary for the contested seats.

Supreme Court Nominating Convention
New York County held its Democratic Nominating Convention for Supreme Court Judges on September 18th. In a tightly contested race, Judge Judith Gische received 65 votes and secured the nomination over Judge Lucy Billings who received 61 votes. Also nominated were incumbent
Primary Results and Next Meeting
Civil Court candidate, Nancy Bannon and Surrogate candidate, Nora Anderson, both won the Democratic Primary. Your voices were heard and your votes did count. Both will be in the general election if there are other party opponents, but as we know, the Democrat nomination is tantamount to election in New York County.
